In my opinion, the most common mistake made in MTT poker is incorrect short-stack play. When I play an MTT my most important goal is to make it In The Money. Reaching the final table or even winning the game are purely secondary as when you invest time into a game you want some reward for it. It is my belief that the best poker players do not play 'by the book' in every situation. Today i entered the freeroll and was doing pretty good until i ran into one of those power donks that play any two cards. These players really push with anything preflop. I lost 2 times to the same player that pushed all in preflop with Q-4 offsuit and J-5 offsuit. both times i had AK suited. To add insult to injury this player started talking about what a good player he was and how terrible i played.
